Old business

1) Minutes of 10/28 meeting approved by unanimous consent with no changes.

2) (Welter) Clarification of new policy WRT counting Core Curriculum courses toward a minor, and the restored policy of requiring 2 300+ (S) courses.

á      Students invoking this policy must take all their CC coursework within the standard distribution of HUM 20x + STEM + Human Sciences modules; students pursuing themed replacements for either the STEM or HS module are not eligible.

á      Programs that require minors will not double-count CC courses toward the minor.

á      Restored policy of requiring two 300+ (S) courses to take effect in 2015 Fall; UGAA has authority to make exceptions as they deem necessary.

3) (Spink) NCA accreditation of IIT Common Core Admin will not compensate a CC assessment coordinator.  Bauer volunteers to lead this effort.

4) (Steffenson) Proposed Examination Best Practices (in documents folder).  Moved and seconded that these be approved for faculty who choose to implement them.  If published in course syllabi, the university will support their use.  Passes unanimously.

New business

5) (Bauer) Suggest UGSC invite D. Rempfer to discuss circulated document from ad hoc committee on Core Curriculum.  Approved by assent.

6) (Spink) Bioinformatics program has passed the UFC (not unanimously) and will be presented to the full faculty soon.  (Later information indicates that it will be brought up at the November meeting of the full faculty.)
