The minutes of the meetings of 2/10/05 are approved.

It is moved and seconded that the UGSC endorses the Certificate in Industrial Training proposed by the Institute of Psychology.

The motion passes (13-0).

The UGSC continues consideration of the motion from 1/27/05 for a revision to the criteria for graduation with honors. Mr. Dronamraju informs the UGSC of a continuing effort by the Student Government Association to determine student views on the motion. The SGA requests that the vote on the motion be postponed to March 10, in order to give the SGA more time to gather and assess student opinion. The UGSC agrees to the postponement by consensus.

The UGSC appoints a committee to assess the effectiveness of the humanities and social science component of the general education requirements. The committee is Snapper, Power, Poros, and Towler.

Dr. McKee proposes a three-course certificate in Training the Technical Trainer. By UGSC procedure, there can be no formal vote before the next meeting of the UGSC.

Dr. LoCicero informs the UGSC of continuing work on a proposal to redefine the definition of the UGSC in the Faculty Handbook. A subcommittee will make a detailed recommendation for the distribution of representation to the UGSC. The subcommittee is LoCicero, Bauer, Johnson, O'Leary, Pulliam, Raman, and Sennott.
