Meeting chaired by Kathryn Spink.

Minutes recorded by Greg Pulliam.

Quorum declared at: 12:46 p.m.

Adjourn at: 1:50 p.m.

1. Approval of the minutes for March 9, 2021.  The minutes were approved by acclamation.

2.  Information item: the ongoing discussion of changes to the Add/Drop period is now on hold indefinitely due to COVID's impact on enrollments (Spink)..

3.  Discussion: Alternatives to Respondus Monitor for proctoring exams (Scott, Roark).

4.  Discussion: Permits for undergraduate's to take online courses are back ON for Fall 2021 due to UFC's inaction on UGSC proposal. Question is raised by Trygstad as to whether we should eliminate such permits altogether. Consensus may be moving toward a phased-in approach beginning with U4 and U5 students. Exceptions may be needed for so-called "J-term" and condensed" courses. AUs should consider the matter and reps should report back.

5. AY 2021-22 UGSC leadership call for nominations. Spink, Weening and Pulliam are willing to continue as chair, vice-chair and secretary, respectively. Please send other nominations to Spink.

6. Report from Gorzkowsik on credit-hour minimum requirements at other regional universities for minor academic programs. They range from 12-hour to 18-hour minimums. Consensus seems to be a 15-hour minimum, with at least 12 hours taken in coursework that is not counted toward a student's major. Spink and Pulliam will work on wording for a proposal and send it out shortly.

7. Report from subcommittee working on UGSC definition of major vs. minor changes to academic programs. Reps from AUs should report back to UGSC on when any regular internal or external reviews are scheduled for their programs. Discussions will continue.
