1.    Minutes of the 3/26/2019 meeting.

Vote was taken and the minutes passed unanimously.

Introduction of the new Student Government Association representative Daniel Medina

New Business

2.  CAC Review of IPRO and SAT C-courses (Pulliam).

Report was accepted, 9:0.

3.  Minor change to BIOL/PSYC dual degree program (Menhart).

Proposed change to redefine Bs-Bio/BS-Psych dual in terms of underlying standalone programs plus integration points to restore concordance between the standalone BS-psych and the dual BS-psych.

No discussion.

4.  Two programs in SSCI to be put on hiatus (Rosenberg).

Three year holding period, and upon which the program will be either eliminated or put back into the bulletin.

No discussion.

Vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

5.  Minor changes to the pre-med minor (Spink).

Phil 380 is the Bioethics Section only

SSCI 385 replaced by SSCI 318 Global HealthA

No discussion.

6.  UGSC 2019-2020 officer election.

Chair: Greg Pulliam (Minutes 03/26/2019)

Vice chair: Nick Menhart (volunteered). Vote was taken and motion passed 10:1

Secretary: Fred Weening (volunteered). Vote was taken and motion passed 12:0

7.  Enrollment policy for online courses (Menhart).

Add “Department permit” is required and checking with the advisor.

Motion to clarify the policy: Undergraduate students must have the approval of their primary academic advisor and the permission of the department offering the course to take an online course.

Vote was taken and motion passed 10:0.

8.  Request UGSC approval for voluntary Ethics pilot expansion in HUM 20x courses (Pulliam).

Asking the Humanities chair to allow instructors to voluntarily incorporate an Ethics Module in their HUM 20x sections.

Vote was taken and motion passed 11:0.

9.  Co-terminal advising policy (McGrath).

Informed about the new form for co-terminal degree program proposal.

Students who intend to do one of the co-terminal degree programs have to complete the application; then the advisors of both departments are contacted to coordinate their work.

Double counting of the courses was discussed.

     10.  Library update (Savage).

Information Literacy Skills - Teaching (and supporting) primarily undergraduate students (in 200 and 300 level courses) how to use library resources to complete research assignments.
