b.   From BME

1.    BME 490 (Senior seminar) used to be a zero credit hour course which was required for our BME undergraduate students to graduate. The BME department dropped this requirement for undergraduate students in 2019; All undergraduates are able to attend the seminar if they choose to, or if there is a topic of interest.

2.    Effective Fall 2021 the BME department will be offering BME 330 (Biosignals and Systems; 3 credits). Prior to this point all BME students were required to take ECE 308 (Signals and Systems; 3 credits)- a required course for all undergraduate tracks. All BME students are highly encouraged to take the BME equivalent course (BME 330) since the course is tailored to cover aspects related to physiological and biomedical systems. BME students will be advised to choose between BME 330 or ECE 308 if conflicts with scheduling and pre-req requirements pose significant delays in their graduation date (as in the case of transfer students). Students are otherwise highly encouraged to register for BME 330.

From SSB (Rokop) Master of Technological Entrepreeurship Update.

3.  BIO/FDSN sequence for the Core Curriculum science requirement (Spink). Language for the bulletin will be brought to the committee’s next meeting for discussion/approval.

4.  Core Curriculum Assessment Committee to be reconstituted to establish an ongoing procedure for assessing elements and objectives of the CC (Menhart).  Initial membership of Menhart, Spink, Trygstad and Pulliam must be supplemented by members from other relevant AUs including CS, AMAT, IPRO, SSCI/PSYC, HUM, physical sciences.

5. Dual Degree and Double Major Initiative (Menhart). Call for proposals for cross-disciplinary dual-degree and double-major programs.
